CSX must run at least two transfers per day to FEC, because when I've seen the morning Y108 train it's been intermodal-only, apparently connecting to FEC #101. A van containing five CSX workers was struck by a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck, resulting in the death of a CSX worker and 4 other CSX employees suffering injuries. The van's driver was also injured, and the other 2 drivers were killed. Emergency responders came from 2 counties in PA, and others from nearby West VA. and Maryland.
CSX 1722 is a rebuilt SD40-2 that now has a GE prime mover, classed as an SD23T4 by CSX. To the best of my knowledge this is the first one of these leading through my area.
