Cornerstones is a nonprofit organization that promotes self-sufficiency by providing support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, quality childcare, and other human services.
Cornerstones helps individuals and families survive tough economic times in an already high cost-of-living community. Through advocacy and support services, we connect our clients to the vital resources they need to build more self-sufficient lives.
Northern Virginia has one of the most expensive housing markets in the United States and it’s often difficult for working families to find housing within their budget. For over 50 years, Cornerstones and the Cornerstones Housing Corporation (CHC) have been helping families and individuals by providing a variety of affordable housing options in our area.
Careers At Cornerstones, your diverse talents and commitment to our mission-driven work is met with rewarding opportunities for success – for you as a valued member of the Cornerstones team and to the many people we serve. When a person receives any financial assistance, they are required to attend a financial literacy class run in a partnership between Herndon-Reston FISH and Cornerstones. If a client fails to participate in the Financial Literacy class, the agency will suspend any additional support.
